I’m still spry enough to go spelunking (though I did need some assistance from the boys to climb back out to the surface world). I think wonder ceases if you set your heart against it. Keep your heart open. The entire world and all the beauty in it awaits us.

  1. Hey Jillian,
I’m so glad to see you went spelunking into your final trimester! Congratulations! I climbed using a body harness at City of Rocks and Castle Rocks (on top rope) the week I had my first. It’s so good for your brain to go through the change and seasons of growth. It seems you are already onto that. I just want you to know it’s ok to disappear for awhile. I have enjoyed reading along and will still be here (even revisit old posts) until you return. No need to feel rushed into getting back. It’s more about learning a new rhythm which may take months. My first was a winter baby too. It was hard to get out on the cold days. Go for a short “fresh air” walk if you can. Even once a week, if you’re able. Sitting outside on the porch all bundled up totally counts too! Putting a big, trench coat on over the top of both of us helped to get out of the house quicker.. So much for the unsolicited advice. Sorry! I just know how tough it can be to feel like you’re loosing part of who you are to become someone new. It’s worth it. It’s hard sometimes but, it’s so wonderful to be out exploring with littles. I sometimes think to myself that I wish I would’ve realized what I was missed sooner so I could love them longer. Just like a corny country song. I’m just so happy your little family is growing. You will be such an amazing mother! Here’s to hoping your steps are guided and all goes well. Take care friend.
    Hugs to you,
    Roberta

Ps. My website is just a few pictures of pretty fruit and trays I started making with my two Littles. It was a way to remember to eat something healthy and do a little art too. I was forgetting to eat and a bf mama can’t be doing that!

What a symbolic image. Hahaha love it thoroughly! So glad you went spelunking !!! Keep your heart open is a great mantra – no matter what challenges faced us before, now or in the future. Thanks for that beautiful reminder. Lots of love. Best wishes for the big day xoxo
