Ode To Plumbelina:

She can run so fast because she has fairy dust in her fur.
 She’s crazy.
She’s batcrap crazy.
But I still love her.
When she’s ugly, boy howdy, is she ever ugly.
 But when she’s pretty…
 …she’s the prettiest of all.
I think she’s the perfect girl for Farley.
Do you agree, Robbie?
This post is mostly for you, my love.
She’s bigger now.

RW will appreciate the puppy's bumshot as much as yours 😉 Ahhh, she got big so crazy fast.

…I think she'll be bigger than Farley!!! She's a bit of an Amazon!

Oh my god, that bum shot cracked me up!!! How in the world do you capture that? Trigger fingers 😀

She is looking gorgeous. What a sweet baby girl!

I saw a wirehair the other day, when I turned the corner at the store, and I immediately freaked out about how cute she was. What is it about GSP and GWP's that does that to me? It's like crack! 😀

What kind of collar does she wear? Or should I ask, what's the big bulky thing on her collar?

Beautiful photos. Can't believe how big she got, and how fast.

I have new neighbors from Idaho, they have two cattle dogs. She (the new neighbor) wears a bison necklace, and it reminds me of you. I am looking forward to getting to know her!

  7. Oof! A beauty! Great photos; especially love #5.

  8. Boy the first thing I thought was "Gosh, she's gotten big"! She's beautiful as well, no ugly there!

Cat: I don't know! Pure luck;) I freak out every time I see a WP or a GSP….these breeds have my heart.

Jessica: Plum is wearing a hunting collar. It has two attachments: a shocker and a beeper. The beeper helps us locate her when she's in thicker cover and on point. The shocker is for getting her attention when she's lost her mind and is hot on scent — this breed is known for bolting, famous for being hit by cars, infamous for getting lost on the sides of mountains…..

I put her hunting collar on her every time we go out so that if I HAVE to, as a last resort, I can pull her out of her scenting obsession with a low voltage shock, let her know where I am, and call her in.

It's saved her life a few times now. I don't let her leave home without it. This breed has such a strong predator prey drive that they'll just go crazy if they hit strong scent when afield. I don't like to shock her, but if I have to, I do.

Farley wears one when he hunts, but his recall is fairly awesome and he will come to me on the turn of a dime when I call, unless we're up the mountain and he's hitting strong and distracting scent. Then it's like lassoing a freight train and bringing it home with me.

When these dogs are good, they're the best.
When these dogs are bad, I think I might die.

    M: I love #5 too!

B's. Kerin, MLJ: I agree. She really is a handsome lady!

    HA!!! Sounds like Samoyeds! 😉

Textural opposites, but in some ways spiritual twins. Uumaa and Taya are freight trains when they sight or scent potential quarry, too.

Dang! I didn't say how lovely she is…a most statuesque Amazon!
