I had such a wonderful day.
I had to let you know.
After I mow the lawn and vacuum the house I am going back out to the studio because I am excited about working more on a project of mine (ultra uber top secret…you’ll see soon).
There were pickled scallions for snacking this afternoon
Lilacs placed in vases around the house and studio:
And vegetarian Thai summer rolls for dinner…but no photo of them, I ran ten miles this afternoon and was so hungry that I gobbled them down like a wild thing…snarl hissssssss.

Never mind.
I made one more.
For dessert.

Hey!  What’s going on?

Tra la la,
The Plume

Lyns: YEAH!!! I love the lilac time of year…..so much. x

M: It was. Actually…it truly was.

M: OH MY GOSH. I love ginger chocolate. RW hates it. MORE FOR ME!!!

    Fox: RAWR!

    Amy: Amen.

Oh my gosh. I'm still so hungry. I'm going to go make second supper. Perhaps, blue chips and salsa? And carrots. And some havarti cheese? If you could see how much I eat, you'd be most annoyed…sometimes I out-eat the firefighters. 'Tis the plight of being a hummingbird, I tell you.

haha! I ran 9 last week and I inhaled everything in the fridge! I am just getting used to this long distance running thing, my first half marathon is on Saturday, Eeeek! I miss the lilac bush next to where I used to rent, sigh…branches would jump into my arms and beg to be put in vases!

  8. what do you dip your summer rolls in? i've got a great recipe for a fishsauce – based dipping sauce that's DIVINE…but i also love a good coconut – peanut sauce too. mostly, i just looooove summer rolls!! and they're so fun to make, too. that's half the fun 😉

went for a long stroll this evening with the baby and pup – we all felt pretty good after, and Evvy is sleeping soundly, and i'm soon to join him! fresh spring air is my favourite. love you!

  9. It's lilac time here in southern Finland too!

I miss a certain Thai place in San Diego, where we would get this wonderful appetizer plate where you could wrap your own spinach leaves with things like ginger, carrot, shrimp, peanuts.. and they had the most amazing sauce with it!

oh you can imagine my delight when we arrived at this here little maisonette and discovered a lilac bush in the garden (not flowering) and me thinking my dream may be soon fulfilled.. that I have always always wanted to hold real lilacs against my chest and smell them.. It all started whe
n i was reading Walt Whitman at uni a few years ago… That or I think I should take a visit to your bathroom?

And I say, what a scrumptious meal, I heart anything in rice paper rolls! And thanks to the local asian grocery I discovered we can have them again soon x

  11. care to share yr recipe for the
    "vegetarian Thai summer rolls" ?

    i'm desperate for something new!

do you make anything from the 'raw'
    world?

i have an easy & awesome salad dressing, made with soaked raw cashews, lemon juice, a few spices, honey, dill…

I will share, asap – it's creamy and Jamie loves it! (even though he says he hates anything creamy!)
it's also great for dipping veggies, crackers, crusty bread, and more!

i actually have 2 recipes i will share!

    soon.

    xx

Lady, you're making me hungry – those vegetarian Thai summer rolls look so tasty! I'm also glad that your dinner + dessert were the same. *grin* Love your style!

  13. Living in 'Lilac City' I have yet to see any…but perhaps I need to leave my bat cave?!

Yum-yum. I must try the veggie Thai rolls. Any favorite combos/sauces?

Hallo ladybird, WELL I think I forgot to mention (in the post I just popped in the mail) that a lilac tree suddenly burst into bloom at the new abode. I think the house can hardly wait for us, as therefore is dropping new treats and treasures every time we're out.

What I'm up to: eating dried mango, checking the webs, then back to it with a bang-bang and a swish-saw.

    LOVE YOU!

  15. The Noisy Plume: says

    HEY!
Thanks for these comments, chickadees! I love knowing what's going on in your lives!

Jordan: J'adore le peanut sauce. BUT. I want that fish oil sauce recipe from you. Send it forth into the interwebular wilds!!! And kiss E for me. I cant' wait to meet him.

Merja: I think I've had Thai from half the Thai restaurants in SD. It. Is. So. Good.

Windy: AMEN! (to the rice paper AND the lilacs)

Stormy: Well. You really can put anything in them. I had these things on hand: cucumber, carrot, basil leaves (can also use mint), rice noodles, spinach — roll it up in rice paper and devour!!! Easy peasy!

Ash: What I REALLY love is grilling a grouse breast on the BBQ and then having grouse Thai summer rolls!!! HA HA HA!!! Alas, our freezer is empty of this past years quarry so I'm veggie until RW fills it up again.

    Or until I catch fish.

    Umbie: YEAH!!! Lilacs everywhere!!!
