  1. i appreciate the beaver.
head down, building the dam, no play ’til the work is done.
hit the water hard SPLASH to alarm fellow beavers.

    nicely executed, j.

    xx

  2. I love this one!
It is our state animal for Oregon:)
    Beautiful work as always Jillian!

    xx

  3. Paddle on little buddy! I’ve always thought they were such cuties ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. This piece is as stunning as your photography, and I had to comment and say that this is my 9 year old son’s favorite song–and we’re not even Canadian. I know every word, since he plays it on repeat, and I’m singing it now as I go to sleep. Sweet dreams.

  5. THE POWER OF THE BEAVER! True story. A local road was just washed away when a beaver damn collapsed after, yet another, huge storm. The owners on the land where the beaver damn existed may be sued by the town? Details to follow…

  6. So cute! Once when I was canoeing I saw a huge beaver napping on the shore; it was so big that from afar I thought it was a snoozing bear cub! Once I got closer the little fellow woke up to me smiling at him and promptly cannon-balled into the water in fear.

  7. I’ve got that song stuck in my head now ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the beaver. I saw one a couple of weeks ago at the small lake by our house when I was out for a walk. At first I thought it was just a muskrat but then it pulled itself out of the water and hauled a big branch around and I realized what he was. It’s a good sign of health for our little lake if a beaver is making his home there.

  8. I love it. Flawless craftmanship and the photo…yum.

  9. I’ve been singing that particular ditty to the beavers and the babe while paddling across the Klondike to our place. Love this SO much!

  10. Gorgeous! I love the pose — when they lift up their paws to see what’s going on. Love the reference to the song, too ๐Ÿ˜‰ And being that I grew up near Amiskwaciy Waskahigan (Edmonton) I appreciated it extra much.
